(contact me for your destination wedding to discuss travel arrangements and a customized quote) i’m planning a wedding more than 12 months in advance. how early can i book you? unfortunately i don’t take in bookings more than 12 months in advance. how do i make a booking? a) head on over to the “contact me” section on this page. b) fill in your details in the enquiry form and submit it. c) wait for our response email with my packages and contract. d) carefully read through my contract, sign it and send it back to me. e) after receiving the invoice please pay the 50% reservation fee. f) relax, pat yourself on the back and scratch the bit about “booking a wedding photographer” off of your to do list. how much time is needed to photograph everything? it all depends on how you and how you would like to structure your day of course, but here is a rough guideline i normally use: venue and décor: 25-45 min details (dress, perfume, shoes etc.): 20-30 min bridal shoot: 60 min groom and his men: 15-30 min ceremony: 30-60 min (depends on you and the minister) register and confetti: 15 min family photo’s: 15-40min bridal party: 25 min couple shoot: 60 min reception: 2-4 hours (depending on how quickly the formalities are completed) do you work with an assistant? yes i do. having a helping hand allows me to work more efficiently, and to focus on making the most of our shooting time together. on the wedding day there will be two of us, please keep this in mind when making your meal reservations. thanks :) do you offer off season or weekday discounts for weddings? unfortunately i don’t, as i pour the same amount of my time, passion, effort, energy and love into a wedding, regardless of the day or time of the year ;) i am from out of town, how will this affect our consultation session? while i would love to meet up with you before the day, your and my busy schedules and the distance between us, may sometimes prevent that. however, all is not lost! i am available for a skype meeting or we can arrange the rest of the details via email. are travel, accommodation and postage worked into my packages or are they calculated separately? they are calculated separately and are not included in the package fee. travel costs are charged at r 5.50 km for 2018. postage is charged at cost. if the location is over an hour’s drive from my office, and photography is expected to start quite early, or end quite late, then reasonable overnight accommodation will be charged at cost. can i have your raw files? nope, sorry! i don’t give out any unprocessed images. to understand why please click here. you will however receive a disc with your beautifully edited full resolution images which you can use for your personal printing and admiring :) what is the golden hour and should i plan my shoot around it? the golden hour is the time just after sunrise, or just before sunset- which provides gorgeous warm, soft, romantic light for photos. the golden hour is any photographer’s dream light to shoot in, especially this trigger happy photographer over here! so weather permitting, try and plan your couple shoot session around it, you won’t regret it! can i assist you at a wedding? i get so many inquiries for this and as much as i would love to give everyone a chance to learn or help out there are unfortunately just not always enough opportunities to go around. i already have a full time assistant who works for me and helps me out at weddings- but when she can’t i’ll post the details on my facebook page. i'll work on a first come first serve basis so keep an eye out there for any assisting opportunities. what can i do to ensure beautiful photographs? have fun, be adventurous, laugh and be yourself. light is my best friend as a photographer, and choosing a venue that has lots of natural light (or a white ceiling) means that me and my friend light get to play nicely together to give you the great shots you want. :) when having an outside ceremony remember to face away from the sun, or at least have some covering for your faces so that you don’t get those not so flattering frowning face shots caused by looking into the sun. what advice can you give me for my wedding day? relax, enjoy and don’t sweat the small stuff. no, seriously. don’t stress about the small stuff. it steals the joy from the wedding day. everyone wants their wedding day to be a success, to be perfect! but just remember this little truth…that even if all the details don’t look or go exactly as you planned, and even if you’re great aunt mildred arrives dressed in that horrid luminous green outfit that you hoped she wouldn't wear, or if the rain starts coming down on your outside ceremony …your wedding day is a success if you walk away having married the love of your life. then your day was perfect! are you & natasha sisters? no i’m afraid not, but we are very good friends and work colleagues who apparently happen to look something alike. about me let me tell you a little bit about me i’m a no fuss, plain jane farm girl. i come from kommadagga. (look it up- it does exist, i swear!) i have a weird sense of humour. my friends and family are all a bit odd (in a good way of course) and that’s why i love them! i will probably do (and make you join me in doing) a bit of bundu bashing on your shoot in order to get that ‘epic’ shot. i love pretty light, laughing, good music, creative geniusness (and also inventing my own words). i do happy dances when i get a “wow” shot. admin hates me…and i am not such a big fan of it either. i am happiest when i get to work with people and be creative. i believe i’m blessed to be a blessing to others, and that i am called to something much bigger than myself, not for my glory but for the glory of the lord jesus christ. i like lists. christmas beetles freak me out. gosh, are you still reading this? oh…and i babble. let me tell you a little bit about tash tash is one of god’s best creations and is an absolute blessing to me! she is my pa and also assists me at most weddings. basically she plans my life and makes it better. friendly and helpful- she is an answer to my prayer with regards to my hate-hate relationship with admin. ;) she will probably be the one talking to you over email sorting out logistics, while i am busy with other non adminny things that i enjoy doing. tash has one wicked sense of humour and sharp wit; likes spicey food, cute kids, and come to think of it, non cute kids too. in her spare time when she is not helping me run my life, she runs a very successful photography business of her own, called natasha taljard photography. let me tell you a little bit about you you’re someone who loves to laugh. you treasure your loved ones and enjoy the special times you have with them- and would love someone to capture some of those natural moments together. you appreciate art and would like to have an epic shot that you can put up on your wall, and don’t mind going the extra mile to get it. you value it when people are friendly and put you at ease- making you laugh with their strange “happy dance”. you want your big day to be one you’ll remember forever and would like to have tangible reminders of it. you enjoy being valued and treated with respect and professionalism. you want some pretty pictures. and well… what do you know? i like making them! :) scroll down a little further and fill in the form so that we can get this pretty picture making process started! :) contact i would love to hear from you! please fill in this form below and we will get in touch with you shortly. contact me n
